A Great Kick Off Event for FISHING AFFAIRS (FA League 1st LEAGUE – 18th Apr 2009)

18/04/02009 at Pasir Ris Event Pond (Also known as Tac Pond), anglers came in from all over the island for the registration that started from 8.30am. Some of the anglers were there AS EARLY AS 7.30am just to look for the best spot that they feel will help to lead them to the 1st price.

The competition hooked off at 9am sharp when everyone is all ready and eager to start. In just 10mins the fishes started to bite. Which landed us a few Snapper and a Taiwan Ngor, follow by Red Snapper… Mdm Lim was the 1st lady in the competition who hooked up a Taiwan Ngor weighting up to 1.60kg.

This was her first time participating in a fishing competition. She really enjoyed the moment when she was fighting with the fish. Without anyone’s help, she managed to land the fish by herself. Well done Mdm Lim!

By 9.45am, a 2.98kg Snapper was hook up by Mr. Foo Chek Wee. He was really trilled because he is NOW in the LEAD of the competition. At about 10.40am the record of 2.98kg was taken over by another Snapper weighting 3kg by Mr Samual.

Near to lunch time, some of the Big Sea bass started to take in bait, Mr. Raymond Wong felt a great thug on his line. A big Sea Bass estimated to be about almost 1meter long! He and his friends could actually see the fish as he was fighting with the fish near the surface but, the fish escaped after a summersault jump out from the water. Otherwise he MIGHT have the chance to win the Top 3 prize.

Once again the record of 3kg was taken over by a Sea Bass weighting 3.31kg by Mr. Danny Chong. Follow by another big baby – Sea Brass weighting 3.01kg landed by Mr. Woon Wei Zhang.

The competition came to a fruitful end closing at 13.30pm. Result was announced shortly followed by the prize presentations.
