We had our first night fishing competition on Singapore National Day Eve at Pasir Ris Event Pond. Few of the participants were there as early as 4.30pm in the afternoon. They just can’t wait to hook up some big fish and win some prize home.

Participants started coming in about 6pm when register had just started. Some of them came with their love one, some of them came with the whole family. That was really great to see families and friends here to support their love one. Fishing is no longer a man game, but is now a family’s event as well.

The Saturday night fever kicks off when the sky started turning dark at 7pm. Believe it or not? The 1st hook up is just 5min after the kick off by Mr. William Tan. A Snapper weight about 1kg. But he didn’t weight in the fish because he wanted to hook up a bigger one. 5 min later a 2.06kg Snapper was landed by Mr. Kelvin Tan. This is his 1st time joining the FA competition and he is enjoying himself.  Just shortly after Mr. Kelvin Tan hook up, his friend Ryan Cecilia landed a 2.53kg Snapper. She was the 1st ladies participants who landed a fish. Luck came over to the other side of the pond. Mr. Michael Tay and his 10yrs old son. This is his 1st time bringing up such a big fish during his past visit to pond fishing. A 2.82kg Snapper landed at 7.35pm. Just 30min after the kick off, 9 more fish were landed.

The next weight in was a 2.30kg Snapper by Jai at 8.25pm, she was one of the top 20 winners from the 1st league. This fish might bring her through to the final being the top 10 in this 2nd league. At about 9.15 Mr. Desley Han who came with his families hook up a 2.22kg Snapper. Mrs. Han added saying “Well done! That My Hero!”  The next two anglers who make their name in the score sheet was Mr. Woon Wei Zhang with a 2.65kg Snapper follow by Mr. Samuel Liu with a 2.61 Snapper at 9.35pm. Mr. Michael Tay landed another big Snapper weight 2.92kg this time. He was one of the happiest participants who keep smiling all the way during the competition.

10.30pm, just 30min more to GO!!! The hooking up was great... Sea bass, Taiwan Ngor, Big Snapper keep biting. Our 1st league Champion Mr. Danny Chong landed a 3.75kg Snapper! He was really lucky because this is only his 2nd fish of the night, 1st fish was a 800g Snapper, and now He is the leader.

The competition came to a fruitful end closing at 11pm. Result was announced shortly followed by the prize presentations and lucky draw.
